For those you you who visit the MEO forums frequently, mainly Elf, Eli and Tin that I know of, save myself, you may have noticed many changes around there. Some of the most memorable being:
* Morthoron Leaving * Electprogeny Leaving * Banning of many threads * New mods: Patience and Calandyll (I think that's how you spell it)
There are many things that are happening that are very upsetting. At least to those of us attatched to the forums. I think that I frequent the forums most often, and I am quite upset as to the happenings.
Just to let everyone know... I have been participating in a debate about Morth. Some may call it a flame-war, but I don't.

* Morthoron Leaving * Electprogeny Leaving Morth and Elect have left  I had a feeling elect would go, but Morth too. This is certainly upsetting news. It seems like the forums have gone downhill recently, so much so that I'm begining to visit there less and less

Both Morthy's and Elect's goodbye threads are in the Forum and Community forum.
Morth's is called "I bid you all adieu" - which has turned into a pretty good discussion.
Elect's is called "Farewell" - which is just a sentimental thread.

Hehe...looks like EP might be coming back now. Personally, I don't think I care either way. Just between us, I think she is one of the rudest people on the forums. (I had a dispute with her last year on one of her own website's forums and lost a great deal of respect for her). She has, however, made significant contributions to the community. I just wish she wouldn't be so condescending sometimes.
Morthoron, on the other hand, I will miss and I don't think he's coming back. A lot of people view him as extremely rude; I happen to think he just has a unique style of humor.
I think with the flow of new information about MEO (or technically LoTRO now) the forums will take on a new atmosphere. I'm all for being courteous in our posts, but I do think Patience and Cal have been a bit too harsh lately. My guess is that they will eventually lighten up.

I have had only one dispute with EP. I don't even remember what it was about, but I think that her reasoning for "leaving" was flawed. She has made so many new threads as of late with various reasonings and excuses and faults within the community. She only recently made one which blamed herself. I have not had too much respect for EP since I came her. I know she has given a lot to the community, which has not really given too much back to her, but what can you expect? Half the people on there are 13-15 (no offense to anyone here).
Morthy I will miss quite a lot. I found his reasons to be a lot more valid. I found that he has done nothing wrong over the past...long time he has been here. Some people may say that he is a rude person...a mean person...a soulless person. Bah! He is an honest person, plain and simple. I have had many a good talk with him via PM or e-mail. Very intellectually stimulating guy. The fact that his poem was closed must have reall hurt him. Sure it may have been slightly hurtful to come people, but it is the truth. That is all it was, and that is how Morthy liked to express himself. I for one found that very acceptable.
Yes, Pat and Cal have been a little harsh lately. Personally, I think our change from Keeper to them has completely reversed the forums. They seem to favour the new people rather than the old. I have spoken with Pat a few times, mainly telling her to be a little harsher on the members who do not take the time to read the CoC or the many FAQs which have been made for readily available for them. I mean they are stickies! Grr...

Nice to see you popping in elfdude I've never had that much respect for elect and won't even miss her. Sure she's contributed but from what I've seen of her she always seems to make a big deal out of little things, and she is often condescending to other members of the community. As for morth, yes I have and do find him funny. He has that intelligent type of humor which not many people seem to get. Sure he'll act evil, but it is just an act and at the bottom of it it's just a joke

Her most recent thread is a perfect example. When somebody has to be "right" 100% of the time, I think they must have some real self-esteem issues or something.

Wow...what one can miss when they've been gone so long...
Sorry to hear about that Elf.
Definitely sorry to see Morth go...
I actually had to let him know one time that I wasn't targeting him when I participated in a debate related to the attitude of the boards a little before I left.
I've seen a post by him dated September 14th of this year but haven't seen any since.
To tell the truth I liked both of them. I'm just surprised to hear about this and I'm shocked to say the least. Especially about what has taken place.

For the time being, they have both returned.
Elect more-so than Morth.

They have returned! That is certainly a reason to go back to the MEO boards and incourage me to stay there and post again more.
I have to say the main reasons I stopped posting much was that I got tired of scrolling through pages of "when does this game come out?" "whats happening" "why is leet bad" (I'm not putting that in leet I have a hard enough time reading it without writing it) but if they are back maybe things will improve. Only one way to find out *heads off to the MEO >.< LotRO boards*

Heh apparently some have been banned..in this thread apparently the devs have decided to weild the ban hammer. Didn't seem that rough to me...I've seen way worse on the World of Warcraft forums. I won't mention the kind of discussions that take place there. Edit: fixed the link

In that thread, five people were temp banned: Ep LadyMist Mormaegorn Sojourner and Myself Oops! We're all back now though. I agree though. The thread was not nearly as out of hand as many, but Patience was out of town and the CoC got a lot stricter after the wipe. We can't have anymore fun.

To hear Morth was banned though...sheesh....
Apparently the moderators don't appreciate the higher end scale of divine comedy.

Morthoron's ban was unwarranted and a bad move, but as this point, it doesn't surprise me. Turbine has been making many mistakes recently and have gotten far too strict for my taste. One of the more recent mistakes is the addiction on PvP. Not so much the PvP itself, but the manner in which it was delivered to us.

One of the more recent mistakes is the addiction on PvP. Not so much the PvP itself, but the manner in which it was delivered to us. I'm not really too surprised they flip-flopped on PvP. They were talking about it on the MEO boards. No but Turbine did do something that shook my faith in them. They shut down Asherons Call 2. I know it eventually was going to have to come to that but just feels like an empty betrayal somehow. I'm not sure I want to participate in the Beta for LOTR because of it. I'll participate if the kinship decides to go in but that's about it.
