www.lotro-europe.com/classes.php?pagename=gameinformationNow that the classes have been released, which do you plan as playing as and why? And what race will you play them as? Do you find it odd that different races can play as the same classes? That is of course, if you have decided. I'm still not 100% certain myself so wouldn't mind hearing some of your answers

I stated my reasons on the official forums hereI shall be playing a Guardian. So if any of you don't feel like taking on a tanking role I shall have you covered.

Reading that thread, I think I'm going to drawn more towards playing as a Champion; I'm just not sure if the offensive playing style would suit me though. Hunter and Gaurdian do look like good classes too. In fact, I don't think I'd really mind what class I play as; since this is my first MMORPG I don't really have any prior experience to go on. I can always fill the position that few other people in the kinship want

*steps in briefly*
I will more than likely be playing as a Hunter.

I hope y'all don't mind if I pop in occasionally. Of course not old friend. While the guild tag is always important to me, the most important thing to me shall always be the people behind that guild tag. In other words, I hope we can continue the friendship. A great woman in EQ2 once told me the most important thing was the people behind the guild tag.

I would go for either the hunter or the guardian as first choices. I like using bows, but my desire to protect others is far greater.

That's another problem I have I want to be able to do ranged combat but there's yet to be any word on if Champions (or any class apart from hunter) will have this ability

IMO, I would like to be a mix of a gaurdian/champion and hunter, just like most the people in this game (a similar vrs. of Aragorn). Thats why in later exp. I want them to create a Dunadain character, and you could only become one if you have a Hunter from Shadows of Angmar who's reached 1/2 the max level. (This would keep a fair amount of people being other classes.

Last I looked I quite like the look of Lore Master, or a healer type role. I always seem to enjoy keeping others alive even if it means I'm not as strong a fighter. Being a main fighter is fun but well I like helping others ^^

I haven't read much about the lore master yet; but from what I have read, I don't think the role will really suit me. I may be wrong though, like I said before this is going to be my first MMORPG so I don't know what kind of player I'll be

hmm some thoughts on that Eli...
1) Do you feel like trying to kill your opponent as fast as you can?
2) Do you like surviving enough to be able to run away but taking longer to kill them?
3) Would you like a mixture of roles?
If you answered question 1 yes then hunter and champion might be the type of class suited for you.
If you answered question 2 yes then the guardian might be suited for you.
If you answered question 3 yes then, providing the captain is a hybrid, the captain might be suited for you. Course the Cap might fall under 2 also though. Plus he may be a support role which means you'd be sitting back while the tank went in first.

Think I'm going to change my mind on a tanking role...
Don't think tanking is going to be for me after all. I eventually find out I'm not too good at it plus it's hard to get others to listen to ya. Something I'm not having a lot of success in on other games.
Might go for some kinda damage dealer role. Or some know it as DPS. AC2 we called them DDs.

Awww hope you don't make me redundant, I can play other roles, but I really do tend to always play a healer type as my main :/
